About

I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands and from an early age, I can remember taking old phones and tape recorders apart to see how they worked. Electric motors, wires, gears, and switches were extracted and I’d power all kinds of homemade toys with them from cardboard boats and planes to cars made from Legos. The best materials and tools for projects were those found by rummaging around the house. I still find this to be the case, although, it's difficult to find an old BSA or Norton lying around waiting to be brought back to life.

My mother was an artist and she inspired creativity in all of her children (there are 9 of us). We were surrounded by art and music from the time we were born, and there was always some creative activity that Mom had cooked up, seemingly at the last minute. Impromptu concerts, carnivals, craft fairs, and parties were typical year-round occurrences at the Arnold house. I thank my mom for instilling that joy of creativity in me.

I currently live and work in Springfield, Missouri, and when I'm not tinkering with something in the garage, enjoy cooking and traveling with my wife, Barrie, and two children, Graham and Sophie.
